It's the mangaka choice to give focus on them, in the novel they don't show much because we see more focus on Souta's adventures. Mangaka sacrificed those to write an original story with the hero's party and give them character development.

How ironic to have an MC whose greatest motivation is to protect the game's plot at all costs, when the mangaka plays fast and loose with the novel author's plot.

OH MY GOD BRO. I’m dropping this shit bro, I really liked the premise starting out but I’ve been hate reading and continuing for the past like 50 chapters. Seriously. Guys, if you like this and continue reading please let me know if it ever gets good, we had like maybe 1-2 moments where I was “okay cool!” In like so freaking long, it was his sister fighting that one guy and him fighting the lesser demon.

I just feel like the story is all over the place, we keep hearing about “gotta maintain the story” FOR WHAT $&@?#, as soon as dude “lost to a slime” he should’ve realized and gave up AT SOME POINT after so much other shit was different, but we don’t even know what precious story is worth saving or why, if we do know then it was so minuscule that I already forgot. I realize I’m typing a lot lol but I’ve Been getting so annoyed reading this it’s not even fun anymore. The side characters are boring as hell, way too many random assholes, MC is retarded and it feels like he’s had ZERO character growth and for being “the best player” I feel like we’ve barely seen any of that and it’s been 72 chapters, all the secrets feel like they mean nothing, and there’s too many plot points that are just “oh btw this is a thing”. I should’ve known as soon as that dude chose “random as character” that it was gonna suck, I really liked the premise at first and thought what a cool spin, but I feel like I’ve been reading the same arc over and over again with a different skin each time. I could honestly say many more things that have annoyed the hell out of me but Ive made my point.

I’m dropping this, if anyone remotely feels the same way but continues reading please let me know if it ever gets better for longer than a few chapters. Shit sucks 4/10 so far and that’s being generous, maybe it’ll get better but I’m not sticking around to find out Rant over

TL/DR I’m dropping this because the side characters are boring/ way too many, weird and bad pacing, Absolute Coward MC who’s only used his game knowledge like 3 times, way too many random assholes, way too many plot lines that won’t go anywhere for probably a long ass time, and not enough MC screen time.

I’m really getting sick of the the one dimensional “protagonist”. Bro doesn’t have any character development at all even after all the focus on him throughout the story. Why do the manga focus so much on this flat character when there are still a lot of plot points that needs to be tackled? And when will the actual protagonist realize that this is his new life now instead of still priotizing the “story”? When his dear ones get involved in a tragedy?

The art is really wasted on this. It’s a shame since I like the character designs.
