Not a skill issue on your part, but on the author’s part. Lotta people have been saying that for a while now, myself included. There’s a good story buried here but it’s bogged down by shitty writing.

The promise of comeuppance for this shitty player. I’ve found that for a lot of series that it’s this reason alone that drives people to keep reading despite how drawn out the story is or how badly the story is stacked against the MC.
Honestly I think it’s something that we all have a craving to see. To see the wrongs righted and justice or karma or whatever you want to call it enacted upon the vile filth that deserves it.
