Before heading for the party, Souta lies to Kano; telling her that he was going sightseeing in Tokyo with friends.
She sussed him out and pestered to be taken along, but he finally convinces her to stay behind.
While talking in the car ride with Kusunoki, they discovered that Kano had sneaked into the trunk. (She hid herself with stealth skills after realizing that Souta was going somewhere dangerous. She recoiled from the shock from hearing of Colours betrayal, giving away her location.)
Since they were already almost there, and with Kano insisting on following; Souta decides to let her tag along.
He hands her the only escape crystal he has and instructs her to use it in an emergency.
---
After reaching the venue,
they don masks and Kano is whisked away by Kusonoki to get a change of cloths while Souta puts on a suit.
While waiting for Kano, Souta lore dumps in his mind.
In DunEx, the protagonist first learns of the Samurai leak incident when watching a news program. However, the broadcast simply stated the fact that the information had "leaked to the Holy Empire," So the Players don't have details of what actually happened.
Dispelling contracts require high-level dispelling skills, the kind used by Expert rank jobs.
However, switching to a Expert rank job,
requires a level of 50 or above. So Souta thinks this is unlikely.
The Holy Empire could also ask their (Saint) for help, but the (Saint) of the Holy Empire is branded a war criminal; so the possibility she would be in Japan was also unlikely.
Instead, Souta thinks that the dispelling spell would be a gigantic magic circle that is powered by the mana of the party attendees. There was no information of any battles breaking out during the game, so he thinks that the party would be non-violent affair.
After Kusonoki and Kano return, they take an elevator to the 55th floor where the party was being held and take their seats.
New characters make their appearance:
Shinguu Chizuru, a third-year at the Adventurers' Middle School and a Heroine in DunEx. She would make her appearance in the game as the top student of the first-year high schoolers in Class A after the protagonist enters the second year. A Tsundere type.
*Kano and Chizuru having a eating contest.
Shinguu Subaru, Chizuru's older brother and Kusunoki's childhood friend. Runs a small "family?" business in the countryside. Attended the Adventurers' Middle School; but for unknown reasons, did not attend Adventurers' High. Doesn't make an appearance in the game's story.
*The Shinguus are a noble family at the rank of a viscount
Kuki Kazumoto, A muscular man who looks to be in his fifties, leader of the Golden Orchid Clan and an Executive or Colours.
Kirigaya Sousuke, the "Mad Dog" and leader of Sorel/Soleil. Vice leader of the Golden Orchid Clan.
Rokurogi Shigure, an Executive of the Ten Rakshasas; a level 38 <Samurai>. Looks young, but is middle-aged.

The party commences, and Kirigaya announces Sorel's discovery of the 7th floor DLC area.
Souta had expected this, but didn't care as it was a low level area that he didn't have anymore use for.
We get some lore of how the dungeons throughout the world are nearly identical to one another in structure and monster diversity. They also have the Obaba Shop and Furufuru, but it is unknown if the Furufurus are the same person.
Kirigaya then drops the bombshell on the
discovery of the Gates and his intentions to set up a toll fee on them.
*How many Gates they've discovered is not specified. So far only the 1st floor and 7th floor DLC area were shown, but he mentions others. How they intend to charge money for it is also not specified, but they are working with the Holy Empire to get it set up.
**They haven't discovered the school basement's Gate room which Souta's group has been using.
The crowd begins to buzz with the realization that
"Dungeon exploration will advance exponentially, to an unprecedented degree."
Souta had not expected that and was panicking internally, but manages to keep his cool and calm down.
He speculates that the perception mechanism that deterred people from approaching the Gate Rooms was disappearing, making it a matter of time before the remaining Gate Rooms are discovered.
He had wanted to bring his family up to level 30, which would've allowed them to fend off most organizations and disasters.
But with the level-up race intensifying, it would bring about major changes to the world order and system.
He was confident he could safely bring his family up to level 50 but beyond that
"the death rate skyrockets, even with Player knowledge".
After the announcement is over, they took part in a meal; and shortly after...
All communication systems are cut off and an artificial magic field was activated on the entire building. An announcement sounded off the start of a "escape game" with a time limit of 1 hour; after which, the
"building will disappear without a trace"
Souta laments that the events had already diverged significantly from the game's story. He could escape with Kano, but he did not want things to get worse. So he decides to head for the building's rooftop; reasoning that a large magic circle hidden on the roof could be the culprit of the communication jamming or blowing up the building.
After advising Kano to use the teleport stone if things get worse, he leaves her in Kusonoki's care and sneaks away.
Shinguu Subaru tails him and insisted to be taken along.
As they make their way up, they come across the aftermath of a one-sided skirmish where a squad from Kunoichi Red was brutally dismembered.
Souta was able to find one that was still alive and used 3 high-purity potions to save her. She passes them her comms device and heads back to report to Mikami.
Using a vent to avoid the Holy Empire's guards, they make their way to the rooftop.
They spied on Kirigaya Sousuke being beaten unconscious by Sanada Yukikage after questioning the latter's betrayal.
They also notice several activated magic circles and computers displaying live footage of the different floors on the rooftop premise.
2 more characters:
Sanada Yukikage, 2nd in command of Colours. In the game, he defected to the Holy Empire after exchanging information of <Samurai> for the Empire's <Cleric>.
Mikhailo Maxim, Cardinal of the Holy Empire; one of the strongest in the world. Appears as a boss character near the endgame. Currently a level 40 <Sage>.
Sanada then converses with Mikhailo, who proceeds to bestow the <Necromancer> job to Sanada.
The <Necromancer> was a job Souta didn't want to acquire in this world as it requires the fresh corpses of several people over level 20. He also realizes that the purpose of the escape game was to gather corpses for the job change and to be made into servants for the <Necromancers> of the Holy Empire.
Mikhailo leaves with Sanada and their subordinates, heading for the lower floors. They leave 3 people behind to guard the magic circles.
Souta and Subaru move to stealthy destroy the magic circles, but Subaru tumbles out of the vent; giving their position away.
Souta estimates the guards to be around level 30 and one of them leaves to pursue Subaru, who had fled in fear.
The live footage shows the event participants being slaughtered and turned into corpse servants.
---
We get Kano's POV.
After Souta left, she and Chizuru were having an argument on whose brother was stronger; they try to settle the matter by having a eating contest and
Kano removes her mask as it was getting in the way.
They are interrupted by the arrival of Sanada, Mikhailo (He's wearing a robe to hide his identity) and the Holy Empire soldiers. The Golden Orchid clan, led by Kuki with Rokurogi and any combat able event goers; move to intercept the onslaught from the Empire's soldiers. Sanada and Mikhailo do not participate in the fight, instead choosing to observe.
Mikami and the members of Kunoichi Red lead the non-combatants (Plus Kano and Chizuru) to a corner of the venue where a barricade made of tables was set up. The members of Kunoichi Red would also provide support by retrieving any incapacitated casualties so as to prevent any more rising corpses.
(They do not evacuate the non-combatants because they might end up being ambushed in the narrower hallways while trying to escape)
As the casualties increases, with the Holy Empire slowly turning the odds in their favor; Chizuru prepares for combat and tells Kano to run if the Empire's soldiers break through.
Kano, seeing Chizuru as her future rival; decides to help while remaining low-key. She sneaks behind some rubble and summons a human-sized <Handmade Golem> (Somewhat modeled after Tenma's armor) to assist with the body retrieval.
Chizuru had followed Kano and witnessed everything.
As the golem steadily retrieved people, Kano ignores Kusonoki and Chizuru's questions on the identity of the "person in full plate mail".
The members of the support team are shocked when the head of the golem falls off after receiving a heavy attack.
A whip user from the Empire moves to attack the non-combatants after realizing that a unknown skill user was hiding in the group, and Mikami moves to defend against his attacks.
With Kusonoki and Chizuru observing her; Kano focuses intently on the golem and uses her <Repair Golem> skill, which summons the mythril alloy she had in stock at the golem's feet. It fuses with the golem and it grows in size, to be over 4 meters; it then follows Kano's mental command to support Mikami.
Kusunoki realizes it was the same skill used by Souta in the arena.
After a bit of back and forth, the golem manages to defeat the whip user by blasting him through 3 walls with the <Rocket Punch> skill.
Sanada and Mikhailo join the battle, wanting to capture the user of the golem skill.
Rokurogi comments that
"Japan's (Saint) won't let the Holy Empire off" with Sanada refuting that
"A (Saint) wouldn't care how many people die, or how many countries are destroyed."
Kusunoki pulls Kano and Chizuru aside; telling the both of them to escape.
Kano takes out the escape stone Souta had given her; she was at her wits end as the stone could only bring her to safety, but she wanted to save Kusunoki and Chizuru too.
She realizes that the stone was glowing and she could hear the voices of Arthur, Risa and Satsuki; with Satsuki screaming for her to use the escape stone.
After Kano pleads for their help; Risa teaches her a technique to summon Arthur by using magic power and the escape stone as a catalyst, she and Satsuki make additional preparations to head to venue to provide support.
Arthur arrives on the scene in the body of his Arachne summon beast, the Arachne now has the upper body of a young girl.
He stuns everyone with the density of his mana pressure and his ability to speak.
He makes swift work of the Empire's soldiers and faces off against Mikhailo; addressing him and Sanada by name, he calls them out for their actions.
*While in possession of the Arachne; Arthur can only use the Arachne's skills.
---
The Extra chapter gives a small pov of Satsuki's; where she, Risa and Arthur where observing the events from the throne room on the 38th floor of the dungeon.
Arthur immediately cleared out his base on the 20th floor gate room after learning that the gates were being discovered.
Hippogon was the one that taught the method of summoning Arthur to the event venue.
---
The Bonus Short Story features Arthur, Risa, Satsuki and Hippogon meeting up in Arthur's castle shortly before the clan party kicks off. There are small cute interactions between the characters and it closes with Satsuki seemingly foreshadowing Hippogon as a great asset in the future.
*
"Dragons have the unusual ability to "recall knowledge from their previous lives." It seems Hippogon is no exception, possessing numerous dungeon knowledge unknown to even Risa and Arthur. Souta said that these things have incredible value."
