Honestly, as much as it appears applicable in context, this one seems to be enforcing "strong denial is affirmation" nonsense; it makes me cringe. You see, that adage only can apply to flustered denial (even then, there can easily be more than one reason — the cause of emotional upset could easily be different, such as being frantic because you loathe the very idea at a gut level).

For example, complaining about a lazy despotic manchild of a co-worker who routinely harasses you, and getting the reply that it sounded like the two of you are like an old married couple. (This actually happened to me once, it made me shudder before the co-worker in question added sexual harassment to his repertoire.)

Maybe it's because of experiences of that ilk, but this chapter was a lot less enjoyable than all the previous ones. As it is, it seems more like the second couple's dynamic is about an overgrown middle-school boy making fun of a girl whom he either likes or likes to make fun of. Ugh.

I'm tempted to skip all chapters this couple's in.

Why this font of all things? How did you even change it?
