@HolyDemon A manga needs to be at least somewhat entertaining.
I mean, good manga, and in entertainment in general, to be successful, you have to create something entertaining, that sells well and that have some depth/a message.
It would be difficult to create an entertaining plot revolving around sorting trash.
On the other hand, it's pretty easy to do so with topics revolving around sex, violence, death, and so on...

Exchanging drugs for profit elevates you by destroying others and so hurts yourself. But what if you are in the business because you respect and want to be close to a person involved. Are you helping by give those stuck there a chance to have interactions with someone not interested in profiting off of them.

Does that help @Turahk?

Things are getting wild...

I mean, this is all the kid's own fault so I can't be that sad about him...and I fail to see which convoluted reason the manga will have for the Ethics teacher getting involved.

Thanks for the Volume!
I don't think this was a sad turn of events, more of a thriller development.
Still, one could argue it's kinda his father and brother's fault for letting him involved in that stuff, the boy didn't exactly know how bad it could get.

Not sad, just unfortunate.

@IJustMadeThisToComment IKR? It's almost like ethics can't be about mundane everyday shits that are actually useful, like tax, voting right, human right, conscription, conflict of interest, copyright, private ownership, environmental duty, sovereignty and nations, laws, discrimination etc...

It's like they don't even think incredibly difficult yet common topics such as "why should i sort trash?", or "can I torrent things instead of buying them?", or "is political censorship ethical?", or "how and why should I question and criticize the government without breaking the laws? What about civil disobedience?", or "is it sexist to have gender-specific space? ", or "What even is consent?", etc... not ethical topics
Manga has publishers who want to sell their stuff, and half of the appeal is their topics. I think asking for mundane topics in a entertainment media is asking too much.
