Ngl this is actually a solid ending, as the author actually brave enough to stray off the path "Choosing 1 girl" normally or creating multiple universe/ending where eveyone win thus no one wins at all.
The only thing that kinda turns off is how he potrayed every girl as somewhat of a monster in their career which is kinda over the top.
Of course it did seem to push the button of some anti-harem guy in this thread though

Actually... to that Ra Ni comment

The harem ending is much, much, much more common than the side heroine win.

Like i can call lots of harem endings from old and now. But like side heroine endings...

There's Chihiro from Kami Nomi zo
...

And Chisame kind of, but that was not cannon till UQ and then it got rewriten so theres also a Yue/Nodoka bigami ending, the Eva ending and the weird polycule which are all also canon.

Maki in evangelion? Doesnt really count.

Ehm...

in the Tate no Yuusha psychotic Spear spin off Naufumi ends with Sadina consistenly.

Damn i dont know, in seitokai no Ichizon he kinda ends up with the Valedictorian in that sequel that was never translated. But thats cause the original was a no one ending...

Fuck! There more no one endings, everyone dies, open endings and even multipel than side heroine wins.

I like the idea that the original webtoon MC wasn't abandoned and got the chance to stay with his two original childhood friends.

Eh. The series lost a lot of steam during its run. It repeated a lot of the harem cliches it shat on. For how much it tried to portray itself as a subvertive series or a deconstruction, Hyakkano did all that better.

I think the author themselves lost interest. This seems like a pretty lackluster ending with 1 chapter left. I expected a proper after-story. Less "7 year after" but more right-after they begin dating.
It's a self-aware pure harem series, not a parody as you expected. It has always embraced clichés—sometimes playfully, sometimes thoughtfully—similar to Saekano.

The people shitting on the harem ending are just trying to get picked by the author to live in a world with a harem of girls. Nice try guys.

These last few arcs were indeed kinda rushed comapred to the earlier parts of the series but whatever, this chapter had a lot of Na Ri yeeesss I love you author!

And calling an ending "the laziest ending" just because it's the ending the author has been building up all this time and therefore the most predictable… is just pure, unfiltered stupidity.

I'm a stupid r***** as well most of the times but this is just :shamihuh:

First of all; the author was always going for harem ending. There way WAY too many hints for that, starting from chapter ~40 to ~130. I won't say list them out here, I already did on our Discord.

Second; Where are those "romance stories" that end up in a harem? And what do you even mean by "be a bit creative and do the opposite? As I mentioned before, we literally NEVER had any harem manga/manhwas that actually ended as a harem. Those mangas that already had the main concept of it being a harem don't really count, like kanojo x kanojo or 100 girlfriend. There could be like 1 or 2 harem endings, but I don't know them at all that's for sure, so please enlighten me with them.

With that in mind, I think the Author didn't chicken out from anything, you just can't accept how it ended as a harem because you don't think its realistic enough or dislike the concept of it. In fact, the Author, even while fully knowing how this can split its fanbase, still went through with the harem, while most harem stories fail to go through with it and always just end with 1 girl or multiple endings.
In addition, the in-universe author was railroading the MC into a harem situation whenever he liked it or not. And since he couldn’t naturally draw the girls in, he was forced to emotionally invest himself into every single FMC. By the end of the story, the only options available were to either embrace his destiny or abandon the social group in its entirety because picking one would hurt literally everyone involved.
