Her reception is certainly ambiguous- I think you've raised a good point about whether or not she'll actually take it to heart; the difficult question that this manga attempts to grapple with in a world of generally binary conceptions of gender is... what does gender look like outside of that binary? can we even call it gender? Oshimi attempts to offer the answer in the form of Kei and Yo's acceptance of a seeming nonbinary identity- and Kei invites Mitani to do the same, to unburden herself of gendered expectations, but, as you said, whether or not she actually will is another question entirely.Will she though? I don't think she was ever confused about it. Didn't she noped out of there because she knows she is a woman and any idea of "stepping down from it" is just kind of nonsense to her? Hence, there is no place for her in that place.
