I don't know. I'm a sucker for isekai stories (or fantasy stories, that could be used for isekai, e.g. with RPG elements, like in this case here) and often enough I don't care much, even when there are a lot of trashy isekai tropes involved, but this here just feels too forced. (I will use the term isekai more often here, eventhough it is incorrect, as so far nobody til now showed up, who got isekai'd.)
  • Banished from his party/guild. Nothing wrong with that, but the way it went felt so lackluster. Evil commander gave an order and later lied about it. Everyone else aside MC and that guy in the room (all females btw) felt obviously uncomfortable about that, yet no drama at all. Nobody who concured or openly disagreed. At least that part didn't take long. And MC gave up quickly. (That part I acctually dig. No reason to stick around, if you are confident in your own abilities and your boss is a dig, who is out for you.)
  • The only person coming to his aid can't do shit about it and is a girl, of course. Another typical trope I wouldn't mind too much, but again it feels so meeeeeeh executed. It's not unlogical or anything. Of course MC gets banished, when she isn't around. That part isn't bad. And I like that there IS a piece of BG-story to their relationship, but it is sooo generic. As generic, as the bikini armor trope she is wearing. And yet again that BG-story it is short. (Maybe for the better.)
  • Slavetrading is everyday buisness, people do in the open. Typical isekai trope, but this time one I'm not fine with in general. This one really irked me. It being slapped in lacklusterly "Yeah, that's the world." AGAIN doesn't help, as it makes things even worse. There is no justification why something like that is allowed to exists in their culture. No hint of an explanation. It's just there, lol. :( This indicates, that there is something really, really wrong with the people living in that world. (I know, it is just because the author slapped it in there, still...) The grocery shop owner seemingly buying children on a regular basis for "it not ending well for them" being an openly known fact is ... Nope, that society there is really sickening.
  • Each cooking MC needs a cute sidekick. Make it a girl. And make her a loli. Also save her from her life as a slave, because MC is awesome. I was there with the author till cute sidekick. Too bad she isn't a slime. Let's see: Loli, ex-slave... do I need to say more? I do: Cheap. Generic. Eternal "protect her precious smile" for 'd'aaaawww's. Author-san plans to tug on heartstrings with the easiest trick in the book, which can be fine, if the quality of the rest of the story is also fine. But I don't foresee that.
  • Considering the circumstances, eventhough MC should be well off, make him broke. Well, that's a given. Don't tell a big, interesting tale about how he ended up being broke, instead make it quick and generic. Let him spend most of his money conviently on the girl to show his big heart, because he is awesome.
And that has been enough for me. I was feed up at that point. I know it is too early to judge the whole story, but damn, this first chapter stumbled from one cliche to the next, without any interesting plothooks. MC's plain to see nice guy character is plain. Girls everywhere, even of the front page. This does not bode well, as it indicates a typical nice guy harem, with a lot echii sense, but no romantic develpoment. Just a bunch of girls mindlessly swooning over MC, which makes for the most exciting stories, as we all know.

I used the term forced before. It does feel forced for me, because there are a lot of tropes and the feel just simply slapped in an unnatural way. Just like this paragraph here.

The rating is currently at 8.29, so maybe there is something more to the story, but damn ... I just don't feel motivated. No halfway interesting plothooks so far, a dislikable society as setting, cliche after cliche, those executed boringly and a strong indication for the most boring harem fillers later on.

Is it bad I really want to drop manga the moment I see characters like Katie? Watching someone walk around in skimpy underwear in public isn't a kink of mine. It's weird, and actually a turn off because someone who walks around in front of children and stuff wearing strings has a problem and not a good one.

yeah drop it, why are you asking for opinions if it's bad or not ? This is subjective. If anyone say it's bad you're just gonna reject it cause it's your belief. I don't mind it because it's in fiction, but if I see a real person doing it I'd be disgusted and wouldn't tolerate it.

Is "How to open a restaurant for banished adventurers" an actual book? How often does this happen?

Also, why does every one of these heroes need to buy a slave? Can't they think of a more original way to introduce a daughter character?
