But on the real she needs to dump him if this wasn’t a joke manga. It’s been 5 years and they have gone nowhere in that department. It’s not likely to change. The guy may be asexual, cool but she isn’t.

I honestly feel bad for this girl. It would be one thing if we saw him being embarrassed by her attempts or something that indicated ANY affection on his end, but we don’t. Its really important to be on the same page with things like physical intimacy and if this guy is ace he needs to be upfront about it. Hell they haven't even kissed or hugged or anything. I really don’t get the premise here. They don’t even seem like they're dating it feels like one of those drawn out misunderstandings where one person in the relationship doesnt know theyre dating. Its just cringy to watch, not cute. Also the “sweet” things he says to make her forget about her horniness arent even cute, theyre the bare minimum you should say to someone you’re friends with, let alone dating. Ive seen some comments saying the same and everyone else saying theyre taking it too seriously, but I think were all here for some fluffy innocent interactions and we are getting NONE of that cause they arent affectionate in any way. Gimme some affectionate or romantic words beyond “you’re fun to be around”, gimme some physical affection like hand holding or a hug, acts of service or gifts that show he is really thinking about her, a slight blush, LITERALLY ANYTHING

@liquidsword Dude and I'm actually laughing at yours. I mean it must suck never feeling any emotion whatsoever when you read a story. Really, what a boring and dry experience that would be. I'd wonder what you'd even get out of them if they don't stir you up at all. It's literally half the fun to get into the heat of the moment over the goings on in fiction. You treat it like people are having a literal aneurism over a character's portrayal but they're just having a bit of fun blowing off some steam over what they're reading and you're acting like some sort of emotion police. Nothing to see here folks, it's not real, really!

@sirflimflam Ignoring the fact that your entire comment is predicated on a very obvious false dichotomy, calling this a "story" is a fucking stretch. It's pretty unfunny, but it's clearly just a gag comedy and you're talking as if it's some soap opera. People will laugh at characters being curb stomped, but when someone says no to sex the audience always freaks the fuck out because they're so desperate that they cannot imagine a world where it could possibly be turned down. It's super pathetic. Half the comments here read exactly like "nice guy" comments on facebook pages a la "he doesn't treat you right, I could do so much better".

@mommunism To be fair, almost my entire reaction there was pretty substantially tongue in cheek because I found their tirade on people taking things "too seriously" while they themselves are doing the same thing from a different angle a bit silly.

I don't get why a gag manga can't be considered a story though. I don't think anyone argues this is a literary masterpiece or anything, but a story is a story, even if it's built on a very basic premise. You don't need to be reading Shakespeare to say "wow, that character is kind of an ass". Implying the relationship is pretty fucked up isn't really playing the "desperate nice guy" angle. If you're in a relationship for 5 years and aren't getting what you want out of it, regardless of what it is, then that's a sign maybe you shouldn't be in it. Mind you I haven't read the comments for the first and second chapters, so maybe shit is a lot worse there.

But I digress, I don't really have the willpower to continue on about this story anymore, so I'm going to bow out.
