The ponytail design is definitely superior.

There is nothing wrong with the old design, but the chosen one is vastly superior. I just wish she had the cute long tail of the twitter type.

Designs aside, I much prefer the author's choice to make the werewolf the main protagonist instead of the more tropey choice of using the boy.
