He did not (though he probably would have, if he had been exposed to it). It's a Southern US thing, and while I actually do like it from the standpoint of providing a distinction between second person singular and plural pronouns, it simply doesn't work well in print.

it's you all but shortened. makes sense socially to abbreviate it to y'all.

don't know about the more complex grammatical parts tho, that's a super nerd thing to worry about.

you just need to see it written more often. kinda like the word cart and spoon in French (cuillère and caddie) I know I always kinda tweak when I see those words.
