How about Spice and Wolf? Medieval merchant shenanigans + road movie + romance. This one is great btw., at least the anime is (those %\&! never finished it, I'd pay may first- and secondborn for further seasons).

Those are the only ones that comes into mind that are not isekai
I've written them in the order from my most favorite to least favorite, though I Love them all.
Ps : only mikado no shihou is completed, the rest are ongoing, all of them can be found on mangadex

Yes they did. Twelve years ago. The anime is titled Romeo x Juliet and it was directed by Fumitoshi Oizaki, written by Reiko Yoshida, and animated by Gonzo. The music was handle by Hitoshi Sakimoto.
