It’s a subscribe for updates. If the bell is selected then you follow it for updates that you can see here - https://mangadex.org/titles/feed
If it’s not selected you can only see them in your library here - https://mangadex.org/titles/follows
You can still see follows even when bell is selected.

i always wondered why there wasnt a system to notify you when series get updated. ive just never knew where to find it, tyvm
