Well, you might have already seen Ero-Otoko's guide to scanlation. But how do you like to see sounds effects the most?

Open the spoilers to see a slight nsfw edited SFX of Ero-Otoko's guide

The numbers correspond with the numbers in Ero-Otoko's guide

Katakana/hiragana memorization takes maybe couple hours at max.

Sfx in the margins. Even if it's splurtspurtsplurt, I wanna know what's going on but redrawing it messes with the flow of the page since English reads left to right.

Japanese sound effects look really cool, anyway. Very easy to understand after seeing them a few times, too. Reading "Splurt", "Scritch scritch" or "Creeak" across the panel in English really takes me out if it's any more obvious than a well-placed n. 3, to go by Pika's example. Not to mention the extra amount of work scanlators must take to erase the original sound effect, risking covering up bits of the original panel for little to no gain.

I guess i'm a purist. I only accept Japanese SFX and English in the margins.
