Why do so many translators misuse the word 'trash'?

I often read mangas with villains accusing people as 'a trash' or a group as 'trashes', I don't really understand why this is a very common translation error and I struggle to see why it is so often used. Is it due to the nature of the language it is translated from or is there another reason?

@MCX01 misusing an already overused word for dramatic effect doesn't seem very plausible. It just removes from the tension in the scene. Trashes is a word but only in a form like 'the goblin slayer trashes goblins' (although it is close to not working there as it is usually referring to insults instead of physical action.
You see translators with proofreaders do this too and it just seems odd.

Their English isn't very good. They don't know about uncountable nouns.

The proper term should be garbage imo. It flows better and means the same thing.
