A slow chapter but even so a good one, looking the situation through the magic council point of view gives us more insight about the world it was really interesting, even so, i still don't like them and the brim hats don't seem much better to this point i only pray for coco and company safety.

@Qelix depends on what the "saving" is supposed to look like. It could also be that they try to force a situation where she has no other choice but to join them.
Maybe like "Yes they hunt you know, yes it's our fault and you could just surrender but by learning from us you can also safe your mother. That's what you want isn't it?"

Might be just author antogonizing them, but bare minimum of appeal would be nececcary to make her join them. After all, they can just hint that turning stone to flesh is same forbidden magic as turning flesh to stone.
This arc suggests they just want to make her undergo as much stressful tests and trials as possible. Maybe all they want is to make her as strong as possible then... Erm... Profit?
I dunno. Trial for turning unlearned into more capable witch then pureblood.

@theShear, @kwendy: After hurting her friends? After hurting innocent people? Her mother has been hurt by magic (even by her own hands) and as a victim, she knows how that feels. Good luck with blackmailing someone, who is able to point a gun at you and doesn't feel any empathy for you. It all depends how tight their grip on her is (Yes, she wants to save her mother.), but if they just make one little mistake, if they didn't thought about one little detail (e.g. A friend turns her mother back for her), the tables will turn sooooo hard on them and Coco is in an position to undo everything they hoped for and do even further damage.
As I see it, she is a critical element in their plan, whatever it is. She will be right at their belly and will have a knife at that point in a future not to far away from now, if I interpret everything right. No one right in their mind would not try to double cross them. And even If you expect double crossing, their is nothing you can do about it, if ýou can't take that person out.
But if their salvation includes their own destruction, (which I don't believe, as they are quite power hungry bastards,) than they might get what they want. ^^
And even if she learns to hate the Pointy hats, she really will hate the Brimhats anyway and hurt both of them in "best" case. (But only while making sure, that the Brimhats won't profit from it.)

I don't know their plan, but from what I've seen, I judge it to be a common stupid plan, thought of people, who believe themselves to be superior and therefore don't believe, they could ever fuck up. It is to unstable. One of the crucial elements of their plan will want them to fail. I just can't see how this should work.

@Qelix Some of your arguments conflict with the fact engaging brims would require using forbidden magic that brims awfully want protagonist to use.
Also... I had a bit of brake, but I don't really remember Brims to be power hungry? More of free spirited guys that just want to do whatever they want. Also author makes it as evil as possible.
"Common stupid plan" would be utter disappointment. And totally bad from writing perspective.

Yeah. In the end I also have no idea, what the Brimhats want from Coco. It could be that Coco will do something, that actually will help some of the Brimhats. The author does a fairly brilliant job until now and I hope, there are some surprises hidden in this gem.
But then again: That one guy is an arsehole, that found joy in hurting them and ... The server is still unstable and I can't research the material. Time to fall back on total guesswork ... In case of that madman, he believes himself and other witches to be superior. Whatever Coco will do, will never play into his hands. She will never be a saviour for him.

Oh, Coco will use forbidden magic, if she can save her mother or others with it. I see her as that kind of person, who will judge the lives of people more important than rules. The Brims want her to use forbidden magic? Fine, but there must be some bigger goal behind it. And that goal, they will never reach, once Coco figured that goal out and found a way to double cross them.

The invisible guy surely looks very power hungry, with his obsession to rule non-witches/research new magic stuff?!? I wish the server would begin to work normally again. It's a pain looking for those chapters right now. In the beginning I also thought of them being just free spirited rebels and that the author makes them look as ominous as possible for a big twist. But that guy is downright contemptible. There are still the possibilities, that the Brimhats are splintered into good and evil fractions (But in this case why does that guy know about Coco, if she is part of a good natured Brimhat's plan?) or that that invisible dude just plays the part of an evil bastard. (But then again he goes so far, that he actually became an evil bastard.)

I'm sorry, that I didn't prove my points (stupid server) and I'm really sorry, that I sounded like I know what's going to come next and where the story goes, because I don't. ? But one thing I'm quite sure of:
A) That guy is evil.
B) "I don't believe somebody, you've made your enemy, will be much of a saviour to your kind." doesn't necessary hold true for all Brimhats, but certainly for that guy.
C) I can't believe the author writes a story, in which the evil guys get what they want and are allowed to keep it.
=> Coco will not become a saviour for those kind of guys. (One way or another, the story will bite them.)

PS: Maybe I look for some proves in previous chapters later. Thanks for bearing with me.

I just checked Amazon and apparently the first official English volume will be published in April, knowing Mangadex they won't allow more updates to be added to this series at that time. I wonder if dropout will still continue the English translation? (I hope yes, I will buy the Eng regardless but just wondering)

I read from chapter 22 to the this one and I have to say it was a roller coaster of emotions because of how much I adore this series and characters. I missed the baby witches! And poor Eunie, he didn't deserve that ;;

@Yatsuki we will have to ask them directly, but they did start the series because the previous group dropped it, so is likely they will just move out to another aggregator site.

@Yatsuki Plenty of series scanlated here have official english releases. The only thing mangadex doesn't allow is official releases. We'll keep doing WHA.

It's just when I search for some titles, the last updates were like years or months ago when the latest translated chapter was posted just the day before... So I just assumed Mangadex doesn't allow updates when English official is available. I didn't realize they probably just rip the digital official English translation so that's why it's not on this site >"<
