God, is it the same editor that handle Kimetsu no Yaiba or something? Like damn bro, I don't care about this kind of stupid tragic antagonist flashback out of nowhere and thinking that the reader will have a sympathy to the villain.

The story was fine until this arc came. It become flashback festival and stall the story for too long.

Honestly, these chapters of flashbacks aren't bad at all if the main duo will actually travel with the caravan in the next arcs. At least it'll make us more invested in Raloud not matter what happens to gheer. It's the early parts of the series after all, this can all be set ups for the main cast as well if Raloud and the old guy becomes integral to the plot

Honestly a good point, if they do become a permanent part of the cast then this is worth it. So I hope that happens lmao.

The series had a really strong start so I don't want it to have a mid middle.

I guess my problem with that flashback is that it feels like Gheer's flashback and I don't care about him. It is also extremely long. Raloud was here for the last three chapters, but his role was insignificant. There was no new information about him during chapters 19, 20 and 21. We already knew about his pseudo-family dynamic with Gheer, so the chapters felt redundant in this regard. Just compare this endless flashback to Miramira's flashback from chapter 2. It's like they are written by two different people in terms of pacing. I firmly believe that chapter 19 should have been set in the present and be about the end of the fight with Gheer. Wrapping up this arc after everything was said and done between Raloud and him during chapter 18.

That took a while...
I wasn't really interested in Gheer's flashback and I don't like that it took so many chapters but I am glad that I got this.
Now I know his motivation but it feels a little pointless or "meh".
What if that's what the author is trying to make us feel? :thonk:

This chapter was alright if not, good.
Julio being a mage was surpising.
I think there's narratively something more complicated going on.

Pacing will certainly have to be brought up during a review.

Now I wanna get back to the main story please.

At this point I don't even remember the FMC or anybody elses name. They spent so much time on this stupid brother shit that's gonna go nowhere, and there hasnt been anything strong enough for me to suggest even liking any of the brothers to deserve a flashback as predictable, cliche, and boring as this one. I'm like 1-2 chapters away from dropping this all together. The first 2-3 chapters were so solid tho.

Ahhhhhh, I see. Yeah I think that would be enough for the change. Broken out of his stupour by the bastard who tuns out to be a mage no less.
