This was a good manga, but not gonna lie, that ending was disappointing. They didn't really resolve a lot of the plot threads. Kinome never verbalized that she likes Akebi, not only that but it reads like she just forgot that she was in love with her in the final few chapters.

It just feels like this started out as a romance, and at some point they just stopped building on the romance plot hooks like they weren't even there in the first place.
I tihnk the main issue was they wheel spun too long and it resulted in an axing and it had to rush the last 3 chapters. You can tell when it happened cause you have the whole "We have to meet dad" chapter but then the following chapter really rushes through the whole family BBQ which I knew immediately that was the start of the axe rush. It's why I believe they cut out the romance side of things cause it was never really worked upon during the wheel spin chapters.

So they didn't go ACTUALLY go out in the end? That sucks...
I get the GL, but there wasn't any romance

So can we agree that this does classify as a GL despite not conclusive romance?

Still, nice read. Would've loved even if it ended in a poly relationship but with the time it had to develop it would need another two volumes.

cute ending, i wish there's a sequel of this series.
Akebi is late for realizing about how Kinome is the most dazzling one, i wanna see the aftermath about what'll happen after their vacation on extra chapter.

anyway, thank you for translating the rest of the chapters! glad i able to see how this series end since the previous translator team seems dropped it long time ago.

Oh no. Not this discussion again.

Japanese publishers are REALLY careful with putting the GL tag on a work, because (at least at the beginning) they wanna get as much of an audience as possible. GL overall is actually kind of niche.

But let's go over it ¿What are the requirements for the GL tag here in MangaDex?

1- A girl explicitly harbors romantic feelings/sexual attraction for someone of the same sex.

That's it really. Reciprocity it's not even a requirement. But it's true that the actual publishers would avoid classifying it as GL if that relationship is not the main focus.

In this manga, it is.

In my original comment I didn't even say that they ended as "just friends". Saying that would disregard the whole development of the manga. Just no lovers quite yet, because again, it got axed.

Following that same logic, no. Not all girls' friendships in manga can be classified as GL. Just as in real life not every girl is gay for each other.

I understand that you might be salty with this ending. I was too. But you can't throw all the nuances out the window just because. The world is not black and white.

you have your awnser there! because we all know way yuri is YURI not fucking FIRENDSHIP!

everything with an GL tag that ends with none of the character have any romantic feelings AKA either bisexual or Gay is fucking YURI BAIT ! we call it that cuz you BLOODY DON’T SEE YURI IN STRAIGH ROMANCE is you still this this garbage idea that Yuri is “FRIENDSHIP”

LycoriceRecoil is not taged Yuri acording to your shity definition is should be cuz it HAS HEAVY undertones with how close in “friendship” the two MCs are! BUT yet again! people that wanna erasie Yuri has to try fucking harder

ALSO to hit you with the final NAIL! WAY IS YAOI THE ONLY ONE TAKE SERIOUS!!!!!

way is there not more Yaoi in the world were many mangas or anime have REALLY close male friendship! OH I KNOW! but cause YAOI is literaly dudes tirsting/fucking gey dudes! but for some reason ONLY yuri get’s the “friendship” garbage excuse
