It seems odd that Ya Ge would have a picture of Xing Lan’s moms readily accessible on her phone. This is set in 2020 and Lan is 16 so it would be from the early 2000s at the latest.

The fact that Xiao Lan was born out of two mothers of different races is ok but the fact that a picture survive from the 90's is too much?

More so that they were digitalized and on Ya Ge’s phone. I suppose digital cameras were common enough by then, but they were quite expensive and not as good. Also what teen girl puts their mother’s old photos with her friends from the 90s on her phone? Maybe they share an iCloud or something?
