I think I need to invest in a short cat wand like that. I always thought of myself as very safe with wands with putting them up out of reach after being done playing. Today I learned that leaving a wand unattended is not the only danger. I was playing with one of our shyer cats that I'm taming still when his sister dashed around the corner to grab it instead. It got jerked out of my hands and because of how fast she was moving it spun around her legs and she went dashing around the house even with her legs tied up. I finally caught up to her, thought I was going to have to cut the string to get it off of her. It was very scary for both of us. She seems to be okay thankfully. I'm going to keep a close eye on her. I've used this wand toy for months with the cats without any issue. I feel really stupid right now and then of all days this is when Kyuu-chan's playing with a wand toy (though a shorter style one). Anyway, I'm sharing this story because I hope people will keep in mind that it's possible for things like this to happen when playing with their cats even if you think you're being cautious.

@AkaiHana Thanks for the tip! I've always adopted cats who were on the older side, and weren't energetic enough for something like that to happen. I planned on adopting a younger cat soon, so this really helps!

Even if the cat doesn't mean any harm be sure to disinfect claw wounds so they don't get infected~ Especially if they go outdoors.
