@Ixiaz well he did warn them that the monster had some that were resistance to the flute now and it was said to them while the princess was right there so he can probably use that as an excuse that he warn them to be caution when dealing with the monsters. Also one of his subordinate stated that they were in a rush, he could also use that to defend himself that they should've slow down the pace and prepare with the locals to help fight theses monster instead of just going in head first without a plan.

@FStubbs well yeah, in chapter 1 she was literally being offered as a sacrifice to the Dark God (not that anyone remembers that far back anymore lmao)

@Ixiaz probably not, while trying to frame him -looks- like a good idea, he has too many achievements and the princess' backing. There is no way to make the story stick that he betrayed everyone. Especially since the flutes were commissioned of him because they -did- work in the war. They can't say the flutes were a lie or anything like that. The only thing they can say is "He specifically targeted the people that are against them and betrayed them to get them killed" but then the easy reply is "Why are you 'against' our hero in the first place?"

@WillLi Do remember that they also purposely put a LOT of bad rumours out there which many people belief. Also he's only a Hero for the pro Faction, the other Faction does not actually belief in his accomplishments. If they swing it for example like "He manipulated the Flutes to suddenly stop working to make sure nobody gets more achievements than him" it would sound stupid to people who actually know him but considering how the world works plausible for everyone else.
Trying to frame him is still not a good idea ... they kinda ignore the fact that ... he could simply leave. And whoever he joins with would get all the power of his Art while they lost a MAJOR player.

Is that cart/train car thing driving on stone slabs? Doesn't it have iron wheels? Must be mighty comfortable. He really should go for steel rails. Especially since he can simply walk into an iron mine carrying a barrel of coal with him and directly convert the ore into rail pieces.
