Also, the Queen really is a bad ruler.. She's in fact so bad that I think the stereotype "women make all decisions based on emotions" was literally created for her.
I mean, she really was about to make Michael King (meaning marrying him) just because she was desperate to save him...
Then when she receives backlash against the taxes reform she's like "why don't they understand". Like, wtf?
She's ruled by emotions and wants to rule with emotions but that's not how politics work, specially in a medieval setting like this.

First her foolishness as a queen leads to a rebellion in the north which ryouma has to end, next part is wn so it might be different depending on what happens in the LN, but after putting down the northern rebellion, i'm not sure how or why but this leads to a war between the queen and ryouma, the most recent spoiler i saw of that had the queen's army take heavy losses and the southern half get invaded by another kingdom making things even more dire for her, then to make matters worse, elena went traitor on both sides due to someone holding her supposed daughter, who's supposed to be dead, hostage, so basically lupis really messed up so far in the story.

Frankly rescuing him wouldn't have been necessary if he simply didn't fail something as rudimentary as a scouting mission by acting on a personal grudge. And yes, it's safe to assume he will be a big reason, if not the lynchpin in her downfall.

oh i agree that he was being an idiot but rage can make people do stupid shite. Dont forget the reason why he and the other knights charged was because they saw that one traitor dude. Rage will make one act/be a dumbass to the highest order.

oh he's def gonna be why the kingdom falls. Honestly Ryoma should just have the guy killed using his ninja order.

didnt the king get killed or died early and she was made the ruler at a young age? that could explain why she's having such a hard time. She's an idealist and thats why she cant understand why they wont follow the plan she laid out. unfortunately idealism will fail if not rooted in realistic terms and she is going to face the music when everything comes crashing down. As i previously said i hope she retires to Ryoma's territory and i do feel kinda bad for the poor girl. I also really hope she doesnt break mentally and become a tyrant as ive seen series where that's happened.

Yeah, he let his emotions take over and pretty much ruined the whole plan. That might be expected from a young hotblooded Soldier but not from a Veteran ... except this seems to be a thing prevalent in that world. In all the worst ways. The Queen is also such an example in another way. So are many of our MC's enemies.
...seriously "They didn't think things through" is a sentence that will fit often in this story ... I still wonder how it would have gone for the queen if her attendant didn't talk her out of apologizing to our MC. It might have not helped but it certainly couldn't have made it worse.

I mean, this entire thing is clearly aimed at making MC the ruler of the world. So every other ruler needs to be a bad person, incompetent, or somewhat at odds for no particular reasons with MC.

I don't really remember about her father but even if he died she should've had a proper education about the subject as Royalty.

I mean it kinda depends on what the plan of the king was. It could just be he was planning to marry her off to another kingdom’s prince and her only duty was to make kids. Not that far fetched since it’s happened in RL and and various other series. Some royalty view their daughters to be nothing more than tools and tools don’t need to learn anything other than bedroom skills.

The series Reincarnated as a Magic Academy (gun series) has this exact scenario where the only thing she was really trained in was diplomacy and was married off to a powerful POS to have his kids so the curse on the royal family would be lessened by one more generation.

Honestly him being a more grizzled Knight have made it worse as he was also quite idealistic about what it meant to be a knight. A younger knight might have gone back as their lack of experience would increase the hesitancy they’d have. Now we have the opposite problem as he seems to now stopped caring about honor and will do whatever he can to hurt people he dislikes like Ryoma. That boy definitely going to die and I’m looking forward to how it happens.

Yeah a lot of commander/soldiers do seem to be fucking up in the series. Could just be due to the MC deploying tactics no one would have been willing to do (like teaching magic to kids or using magic to make defenses).

I do get the feeling she will end up apologizing to him and it’ll be what will make him be willing to let her live in his territory in peace. Mikhail will def be dying though

Unfollowing this. Either the mangaka or the writer has terrible pacing. I am inclined to believe it is the former.

The gigantic holes between events is just too gaping for it to be the author. It's like the mangaka is only interested in drawing the highlights and there's no context/preparation between scenes.

Heh ... it's probably since I have Novel knowledge which adds some more of the inner thoughts of the guys but trust me that's not it. He's not a "Knight" but a "Noble" of Douchebag World. The actual Knights as well as the common folk make no secret that they blame him for what happened ... which he completely doesn't understand because "obviously he did the right thing as his noble honor demanded". This might be a good reminder at Glasses Guys explanation on what Nobles are in that world. "Beings above you that can do no wrong".

Heh ... it's probably since I have Novel knowledge which adds some more of the inner thoughts of the guys but trust me that's not it. He's not a "Knight" but a "Noble" of Douchebag World. The actual Knights as well as the common folk make no secret that they blame him for what happened ... which he completely doesn't understand because "obviously he did the right thing as his noble honor demanded". This might be a good reminder at Glasses Guys explanation on what Nobles are in that world. "Beings above you that can do no wrong".

Was the entire squad made up of that type or is it the manga just took liberties on it?

Wasn't there a plot thread about mc getting poisoned and his harem was panicking, then there was a sudden time skip and did the story ever go back? Then suddenly there was an elf girl and a conflict that resolved off screen in a couple of pages for no reason? Or maybe I'm confusing this with a different series. I don't know what's going on anymore.

Yep, his personal Knights and followers. ALL his followers. Guess what he is lacking now
But yeah, the Manga skips a lot of Stuff. It also has the Side effect of making certain things seem "nicer" ... including our MC. Seriously He isn't a bad guy but he can be veeeeery nasty.
It do also has the Side effect that it makes Mikahil's push to fuck over our MC (by suggesting to send him to Wortensia) even more irritating since the hostility feels even more unwarranted as we lack his inner thoughts and his, admittable rather stupid, reasoning. Though in retrospect that was kinda throwing away the stone that would later kickoff the Landslide that will bury him so maybe he did good
