I thought she is just an unhinged Yandere. But from what we got so far, it's Umi-kun that is suffering from depression and she is there to ensure that he doesn't off himself. She has a very solid reason for how she acts, dependence due to abandonment and abuse, and genuine love and support for his condition. Though I still don't know how the author's going to use the gay revelation thing. Because the gay dude was very suspicious at the beginning with that smile behind the back thing, so maybe the memory is incomplete.

I'm surprisingly engaged with this manga. Good mystery and good writing. Better than most mystery romances here.

Yeah he might be one of those “sociopath artists” that tortures their subjects for the sake of their personal projects tho other than choosing someone vulnerable or master at manipulation/super rich being known for that would make it hard if u have a reputation for being a monster director

But yeah given how “dedicated” Ame is unless she accidentally hurt him by trying to “stop” him going to university maybe the amnesia condition was caused by Itsuki or another student

I assume it was some kinda blunt force trauma if it “resets” versus Ame interfering somehow

from what i get simply that she jst a a little girl has falled deeply in love but her love wasnt enough to Get him out of depression and this guys rather a mentality ill GUY {i dont think itsuki is insane he jst ill} than a support wife

and mybe she couldnt give up on him she slowly start being a yandere or maybe bec she know that itsuki love seeing him in pain so she couldnt ignore that or somth.. sigh fr this manhwa..

Have a lot of mixed feelings on this. Umi definitely mistreated Ame in their teen years, never reciprocating her love and care... but he couldn't help how he felt. I mean, I could barely imagine the despair if my dad offed himself after my mom abandoned us... it's a difficult situation

I also still have a hard time feeling that she is entitled to his romantic affection even in spite all she's done for him. If he can't be happy with her, because he doesn't swing that way or whatever, I'm not sure she has the right to get in the way of that. However, Itsuki seems to have several screws lose and it genuinely could've been he somehow hurt or manipulated Umi. I mean, his disgust was so intense when he first remembered getting with Itsuki, and there was 'something he never got to say' to him, which could've been anything from "I want you in my life forever" to "stay away from me you stalking gaslighting freak". Maybe Ame is the good guy and her initial yandere shtick was misdirection.
