Tbh i kinda half read the last arc. They didn't actually show too much of Bai Ming's past, but at least now we're finally back to Balande, and the situation there really looks bad. (Btw, am I the only one that keeps thinking about Danganronpa whenever I see someone talking about despair and hope?)
Basically, Bai Ji got sent to that world, by evil Ke'er, where there were other "devourers"/people with divine powers, to absorb it and get to lvl 100 so she could go back home stronger. She met Bai Ming's spirit that had lost her memory and decided to take care of her seeing how she was as innocent as a child, and named her Lilina. Then Bai Ji eventually got to the castle and had to go through trials so she could remember herself because the divine power would make her forget who she was and her objective. When she reached the last floor of the castle she had to fight Bai Ming/Lilina who now had her memories. During the fight, Bai Ji got to lvl 100 and was told that she was now allowed to leave. And because this place was being held together by Bai Ming's soul fragment, Bai Ming had to off herself for Bai Ji to leave. Bai Ji didn't want Bai Ming/Lilina to disappear so she embraced Bai Ming's fragment turning Bai Ming/Lilina into her daughter. Now she's probably back to Balande with divine powers at lvl 100 to fight w/e is happening there.Tbh i kinda half read the last arc.
We are back to the original world but again i barely remember what happened in the end.
Same as the Novel, this is all they showed with more details of Bai Ming Backstory.. this chapter is exactly the sameThey didn't actually show too much of Bai Ming's past, but at least now we're finally back to Balande, and the situation there really looks bad. (Btw, am I the only one that keeps thinking about Danganronpa whenever I see someone talking about despair and hope?)
Is a perfect one-sentence summary of the entire series. The whole concept behind is neat, but the execution in this manhua adaptation was kinda all over the place.
Honestly true indeed, I wasn’t actually interested much in this story back in 2022 when I first discover & read it besideIf it wasn't from the help of some commenters - some coming from the original WN, I wouldn't been able to guess what this whole arc was about or what the point was.
The whole concept behind is neat, but the execution in this manhua adaptation was kinda all over the place. Especially the development of MC's character and her decent into madness. Yes, it was explained many times that anyone who levels up in this world eventually forget themselves, but the progression for Bai Ji wasn't illustrated very well. I mean, in one chapter we got Mama Bai Ji and then suddenly she goes full genocide mode in the next one.
Half of the time I didn't know what was happening, and just went with the flow for the spectacle.
