I think the main problem and part of why she wants to talk about her being mixed yokai and human is cause as far as he knows she's a full on otherworldly creature and is treating her as such. which is fair on his part tbh? like yeah if he thinks she's not human at all he will assume she doesn't understand the culture and unwritten rules of life. I know before the reveal everyone in the comments was thinking the same way. it's not that he's oblivious as much as wanting to be respectful of someone who as far as he knows isn't human.
to an extent, but the core of it is that he's not talking to her to understand what those lines are, he's just assuming where they are different and taking her feelings for granted. i just don't think we can say that he's accommodating her feelings when he hasn't really tried to get to know what those feelings are, especially when we see her bending over backwards so often to accommodate his feelings instead.

After looking at Yachiru, I am bereft of words; all I have left are three letter sound effects.

Using bondage gear to counter your perverted, and very likely, highly fetishistic thoughts, seems to me to be; counterproductive.

the whole "i heard guys like [blank]" isn't evidence of her throwing herself away to please a guy, it's because she wants seiichiro and was trying to seduce him, but lacking experience she can only work off second hand knowledge. that wasn't neglecting herself, it was trying to pursue what she wanted. that's why she came out of that conversation so confused, because he was wrong.

and that's what i'm talking about, he isn't actually trying to make sure she's doing things because she wants to, he's taking for granted that she's not doing them because she wants to and proceeding accordingly. it's more about what he thinks she's thinking than him actually trying to understand what she's thinking, and that's why i'm attributing it to his obliviousness more than anything else. in didn't take that conversation they had at the love hotel as him making a real insight into her motivations, that was him putting a wall between them out of a complete misunderstanding for her motivations because he refuses to believe that her feelings for him are mutual. that's why i said he's projecting, i don't think she's the one with disastrously low self esteem here.

this bonus chapter is a great example, because she's not trying to hide the photo because she doesn't necessarily want him to see it, but because he has put a ban on sexy costumes due to his inability to react to them neutrally, the way he assumes she intends to wear them. she is hiding the photo as an attempt to accommodate him, and he is working so hard to maintain a neutrality in their relationship that he gets the bondage gear out to keep himself from looking at it. he's not the one accommodating, he's the one being accommodated. he is the obstacle.
That makes so much sense cause she has come out and said, "I have feelings for you. Let's gooo!" Or more like, he looks at me in that way, I am happy about it, how do I prove that to him, take him to a love hotel and then hook up

I don't think I necessarily agree? but I do see where you're coming from and am enjoying the different viewpoint

honestly i don't think it's yachiru's obliviousness that's the issue, she knew exactly what she was doing that time she took him to a love hotel. it's that seiichiro has projected his own obliviousness onto her, so him missing her obvious cues that she's into him get reframed as her not knowing what she's doing. progress is currently dead ended until his hangups get resolved.

Mm. That's really why I use the words seemingly oblivious. More ignorance than innocence. It doesn't help that Yachiru's concept for boundaries got murky at that love hotel, but they've rubberbanded hard, and it almost feels like they've gotten more distant at this point.

I also wouldn't say that he is oblivious, exactly, either. It's more... overcompensation? If I had to hedge how I'd describe it. But it definitely isn't good for either of them.
