To be fair, I'm not sure if her getting her powers back really is going to be a good thing, specially if she's trying to make the yokai have a scary image again. It was already explained that the public image affects her powers, so doesn't that mean she would become an actual monster, and incapable of having a normal relationship, if she succeeds?

Idk but I feel like trying to make her live as a human wasn't really a bad thing.

I’ve been thinking about the reveal regarding the mother placing a seal to suppress her daughter's supernatural powers, along with the hints that the father passed away, and I have a theory on how this all connects.
My theory is that the father died protecting his family. Because of people’s fear of the supernatural, an angry or terrified mob eventually attacked them. The father stepped in to protect his wife and daughter, costing him his life.
Following that tragedy, the mother used her spell to seal away her daughter's powers—not to restrict her, but to shield her. She wanted her daughter to live a normal, peaceful life without ever facing persecution or being targeted for what she is.
This also completely explains why the mother reacted so strongly when her daughter tried to unlock her powers again. To the mother, those powers aren't a gift—they are the exact thing that got her husband killed and the biggest threat to her daughter's safety.

I think it's more as a pure yokai she doesn't get a lot of the reasons why humans do things or need certain things, and relied heavily on her husband to do so - as can be seen when she questions why humans put out offerings to the dead if it makes no difference - yet she still does it.

Still a bad mother but in the sense of not understanding rather than actively malicious.

Even if she has a legit reason to seal her powers away, which is something I am not really sure about, keeping it completely secret and not offering any sort of explanation still makes her a terrible person and a worse mother.
