@DarkFlame this is the normal thing in East Asia, we always have rice because it is the foundation and therefore the main dish. In fact it's so vital that in Chinese the phrase "to have a meal" is the same as "to eat rice". When visiting family or when my relatives call they always ask "have you eaten rice yet?" or basically "have you eaten yet" as a general greeting. Rice is love, rice is life.
