Soooo will we ever actually see any romance develop (since there is a romance tag, after all), or will we just get perpetually cockblocked by the author like we did in Sweetness & Lightning? I mean 45 chapters in and we've gotten literally NOTHING to even hint at either main character to have developed romantic feelings

@LysandersTreason it was already explicitly stated that Yamato likes Yakumo. The fact is, she is 28 and he is 14, so a proper romance will happen only after a time skip.

You'll have to point out where it's explicitly stated, then. What I've seen is that he finds her attractive. That's it. That's not romance. And a 'final chapter time-skip' absolutely does not count as a romance, either.

Probably will even only be hinted at in the final chapter, even. This is basically the same plot as Sweetness & Lightning, just with reversed genders. Ugh. Still pissed about how S&L just decided to weasel out of any romance angle right at the very fucking end, even WITH a time skip final chapter.

I don't think they should get together, Yamato is a nice boy and will be an amazing man but Yakumo already has a level of experience in life that even 10 years in the future he won't have the emotional knowledge to support Yakumo ( remember 10 years in the future, yamato= 24, yakumo= 38 ). I won't say i want Yamato to get with Rui, she is a little too high strung, but she can change who knows.

My point is i like the shenanigans of this manga and I like seeing those two interacting, but not every romance story has to end with the characters together, no matter how we think they should, to me this story is about healing and learning.

@LysandersTreason in chapter 31 he said it to himself and in chapter 34 Rui 's sister confronted him about that. There are also hints for Yakumo, but they are much more subtle. So there is definitely a romantic element in the story, but it's clearly not the focus of the manga.

@alacaelum i COMPLETELY agree. i really think it would be better for the story to end with them never having got together bc to be quite honest, even though its cute, their age gap would never work.
