I wonder if Rui even understand that dating that guy would actually mean no dates at all because he's always playing baseball or doing other kinds of physical training whenever he's not studying, eating, or sleeping. Rui's a baseball fan as well, though it's kind of unknown if she's really a genuine fan or if she's a fan simply because the guys she's interested in is a player.

I just don't agree at all, I never liked her and it honestly doesn't even have anything to do with Yakumo being present and the obvious choice from being the title character. I would have taken the "girl his age who wants to date him despite the fact that this series is obviously just about him and Yakumo anyway" thing a lot better if it had been Rui's friend, for instance. I actually kind of like that girl from what we've seen of her. Rui's older sister seems more fun than Rui, as well.

Not sure if you're talking about the one I think you are, but yeah that was pretty awful in the example that comes to mind for me not just because it was like "Really? Who does this, the younger girl doesn't even show up much until later" but also because of the exact same point I made above about Rui... she was the least likable girl in the entire cast, iirc.

He isnt dense, he rejected her multiple times already. Thats why he doesnt care anymore and treat her as a friend and yes he is kinda dense about yakumo, both are dense to each other yet it ll change with time.
