The writing and translation on this one was particularly well done. I like that you can see Kanie really catching feelings now.

MAN this was SO good. first of all, mega congrats on the translation. i do not think this would have hit so hard if you had not managed such a lovely measured balance in the tone. the words just match the atmosphere of the art so well. there's a real sense of time passing, a pausing in this chapter. it has a certain gravity.
now the chapter. i feel like there's a thousand things to talk about. the fact that both iida and honoka keep repeating ryosuke is SO cute. the dormant crush/admiration of it all... (which, btw. whats our consensus on iida possibly being gay/mlm? i think the signs are pretty ambivalent but they are there. it is difficult to pinpoint how much is friendship, but the little date extra with kanie from a while ago makes me curious about it.) in general i thought this was a great chapter for iida. it made me realize we don't really know a lot about him. i like that she is thinking about her previous moments with him and relating them to this inexplicable pull iida is having very privately, and then guessing about his feelings without relating it to herself at all. it feels to me like a very sincere attempt to connect with him AS people rather than on a protagonist-love interest level. they're friends!
and of course it loops back to kanie. let me backtrack though bc i felt like this chapter was so rich in kanie-honoka interactions. "and hono-chan over there is our lovely honoka-chan" AHHHH broooo. way to make my heart flutter damn. his FACE when she smiles at him a couple pages later... is love... is love real... is love here everybody.......... impossible endeared by kanie this chapter. i, for one, am very glad she's processing all this as best friend behaviour, becuase i don't think she'd be half as chill if she thought it was in any way romantic, and the msiconception, erroneous as it is (?), gives her enough space to just FEEL what she will feel with no overthinking. i loved how they stood together in silence, for example. the way she questioned things about iida but not necessarily about kanie even though the layout hints towards kanie's own secrets. and THEN, despite that, the fact that this thing she's pondering about iida is ultimately removed from her because it has already been resolved in her previous interaction with kanie. and it sparks in her this mischievousness, the need to tug at him just so he looks back again. great stuff.
