He already has troubles with self-worth and even thinking of being in that situation as you said, but it's Anjou's constant bait and switching that keeps it that way. I'm not saying staying one's ground is easy, but what she's doing is the thing that keeps them like it is. Either he takes her frankly on the flirt and he does so when she dances away from the issue, or he does not at both points, especially with how he is. But either way, you can see that there has been no movement --Only the stakes of a wrong move have risen, which trips him up even more. Good flirt leaves room for the byplay, but this isn't it, chief.

Anjou is sweet as hell, but honestly she is self sabotaging even more than Seto is.
