It makes me wonder, how does she afford to live in that big house by herself? Welfare? The person who hired Saraki to look after her also subsidizes her housing?

I didn't think she owned that house but it's living there as a caretaker. So in theory the only expenses could be covered by what Pops left her and potentially her mother could have set something up for her too. We didn't get much more info besides the fact she was abandoned.

Wasn't this addressed in the previous chapter? That house is hers, so unless there is some really high tax, she should be fine. Also, manga logic.

Not sure how property taxes work in Japan vs the USA, but my house costs me a few thou in taxes every year. Everyone who owns a house knows they continuously break down and cost you. I've been in my place for ~five years and I've had to repair a rotten roof, replace the furnace, replace the water heater, and repair a drafty exterior door. Added ~$15,000 to my mortgage.
Someone is paying for her to live there. Also manga logic
