But the novel is already serialized in Gunjou. Perhaps she's referring not to the novel, but Gunjou itself? It is the direct object of the verb in the raws, after all:

「群青」を持っていかれなかったのはお金にならないからでしょう

...Perhaps she's saying that the Gunjou issues probably did not get confiscated because they weren't worth anything?

This make sense ig...The Student affairs not taking Gunjo while taking other books as rent collateral is because, it's worthless,. That's what Shinonome said... and Saraki saying they are idiots.
