If she took him to see the commoners, he would accuse her, saying that she is the cause in front of the commoners. Not to mention, would he even entertain her to begin with? Well, that's because those corrupt nobles are always considering the profits, losses, and risks. Granted, being a corrupt noble is bad enough, but still better than being a moronic asshat.
