Looks like the big crystals you light up after you defeat one of the fiends, but both of those are reasonable choices and you are correct for pointing that out.

FYI Havestellia was like FF1 but with a farming element, if you are into that kind of thing....

If I am remembering this correctly ff1 had the 4 orbs you had to light up that the 4 fiends guarded so I had to think about what else the crystal choice would be for.

Yep, that was the first one on the nes, but if i recall correctly, and i may not because it's been years and tons of other games, they changed it to the other crystals? i know they switched to crystals in later games, especially 5.
