Yeah, honestly speaking people critiquing Hodaka are forgetting that these girls absolutely suck at communicating their feelings. Yuna and Kasumi are the only two girls who actually managed to give it to him straight, with Yuna being only one with balls to actually make herself clear and not freak out after wards. If they weren't the main reason for Hodaka's emotional barriers, they would have already had it in the bag to be honest.

Also before anybody mentions Kujaku senpai - she ruined her own confession by immediately pivoting into her student council scheme, making her look like she was just fooling around and trying to rope him into being a part of the student council.

Her redemption started with her helping Hodaka save Yuna's ass at the end of the first volume. In fact, it's actually impressive how much both Yuna and Kasumi changed since the series has started.
