Did we needed the Kijitani/Hodaka interaction?

She wasnt a romantic interest.

And all this chapter did was to say Kijitani kinda likes him and eliminating her as a romantic interest...

Which she alredy wasnt, so whats the point.

The pep talk should have been with Kamogawa and kept Kijitani at Itachi level.

I actually quite like that they actually let him impress a girl and her response was 'oh, he's cool, I see why people like him, I hope he's happy with them,' rather than 'well now I want to bang him too.'
