I wanna say they're well-intentioned extremists. Chaotic Good or Lawful Evil? They want something good, but going about it the wrong way.

@Sep10trion Not yet certain, not all antagonist has nefarious reason , It is the method to attain those goals what makes an antagonist evil. Road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Eco terrorist exist. They have noble cause (protecting the planet) but with their methods make them evil terrorist.

they said that the black stone/spirit egg absorbed magic when the others touched it so they probably need a large amount of magic to hatch again but zero has none so finally grace can be useful for a change lol

Their actions actually save the planet, but they go to extreme lengths to accomplish them.
This probably means that these spirits maintain the harmony of nature, making this situation even more gray.

If I have to make a call here I would say they want to harvest the mane of all spirits for something.
Unlike what some may think they are not trying to "save" the spirits but harnest their power truning them into that black stone.


Also in that state the spirit is not dead but asleep. I have no idea how to awake them but if anything I would imagine giving it mana would do the trick since they fall like that when they are without mana.
