They...tracked down that guy afterwards, right? He gave his full identity and everything.

Let the elves scheme. They're the ones who asked for someone, so if they unilaterally break it off afterwards, it's kinda just problem solved.

hmmm, after last chapter's comments I went back over the manga a bit to check and finally noticed that there's a bit of explanatory stuff that keeps getting cut out. Not too much but it feels different when you know. Like:

-after the mc taste tested the mana medicine he has a conversation with Sandra. She says she's been mixing it with other herbs and converting it to different forms to increase it's potency but mc points out that it's meant to be given to his sick mother so it has to be in a form a sick person can take which Sandra realizes she didn't consider and had to adjust it for.

-Roland, the noble who was harassing Chris, wasn't just attacking her arbitrarily. He's a protectionist. Chris is a foreign merchant from the elf kingdom and Roland's policy is to suppress foreign merchants in favor of native ones. Oh course, with her turning out to be a noble of a vassal state, it got complicated.

-The flashback with the parents getting together was just straight up cut short. They didn't even show the grandparents or how they got killed through assassination and machinations of another noble and how that kinda pushed them together faster.

bear in mind, this is just the context I recall off the top of my head that's missing.

Bullshit. A mature man doesn't start crying when they come in with the cure. And she's not even his first mother.
Just bad writing and melodrama.
You're probably only saying that now because you haven't seen a loved one of yours on their deathbed yet. Regardless of the circumstances, everyone experiences things like this differently, and crying over someone dear to them is a very natural and human thing, no matter the crier's sex and age.

When that time comes to you, even if you may not change your opinion on this, I hope that you'll at least see this situation a little differently by then.

"We're the ones who asked them for the marriage... and now we're gonna fuck it up, on purpose.":question::question: Fellas this is why no one likes you.

Spoken like someone who has never actually lost, or almost lost, a loved one.

Would've been a lot more dramatic, had we not known he finished that potion like 3 chapters ago 🥲..

Of course.. they request a marriage, get what they asked for and now want to pull shit 😐
Depending on what they do i hope they get what they actually deserve and it's not going to be overlooked, if they do pull something (especially, since that princess probably wants that marriage the most)

I mean I can't really say I have either but it's a basic part of human empathy to be able to understand these sorts of feelings from other people who have been in similar circumstances.

Instead of giving the medicine to her immediately, first they had another goddamn'd committee meeting! And, as I promise you, no one will learn because Japanese writers are addicted to goddamn'd committee meetings, so their characters cannot learn.

Wow. I have no idea that my noble lady and marquise mother can act like a noble.

I'd take evil scheming vizier elf over hippie forest elves who keep pointing their arrows at the MC and be all "BYEAGH GET OUTTA MAH VILLAGE HUMIE" even if MC is there to save them/had saved them 99% of the time.

Your logic , no matter how cold , tracks - from a Determenistic point - exceptionally , however ; one must not forget that humans are animals of instict foremost , then Logical creatures - alas , It is also only logical that situation created for drama - as in the mother suddenly getting a Worse Medical conditions after staying strong for a Considerable time - triggers the Limbic system's response due to , for the person , Emotional importance of a Damaged caregiver's and causes Inhibitory response , momentarily , in Logical Centres of Human brain , and Another point of failure to address is the fact that His memories have Ambiguously mixed with ridd and one ought not forget He - despite being reincarnated - uses ridd's brain.

Wow, that’s fucking delusional. Are you serious? The manga even explained that she wasn’t gonna be able to take the cure on her own at that point, because, you know, she was in the process of dying? He wasn’t just standing there crying because she might die in a few days if she doesn’t take the cure now, if the dad didn’t do what he did, it would’ve been too late! She would have died right there, and he would’ve finished the temporary cure just in time to watch her die right in front of him because she couldn’t take it herself!

And it is his first mother, by the way, the isekai’d soul got combined with Ridds. So while he does have memories of his life in Japan, he’s also still a seven year old kid watching his mum die in front of him. He’s both people combined into one, and as such he has all of the memories from both.

And all that aside, why should it even matter? Someone he cares about is about to die, with seemingly nothing he can do to stop it. It’s more ridiculous that you don’t understand why someone would cry in that situation, regardless of whether it’s his first mother or not.
