Well well, last chapter I mentioned that I was surprised that the dark elf girl hasn't made an appearance at all despite that chance meeting back in the second chapter and now here we are. The announcement of him suddenly being engaged to her. That chance meeting back then was probably her and her escorts scoping out the future husband's territory while in disguise.

always interests me to see how an author views the mixture of memories from different lives. Though I guess it's that I'm hoping for something as interesting as the way The Amber Sword did it. "I was reincarnated as a town militia mob and I'm gonna FUCKING STAB MYSELF to activate this a special trick that will let me sneak through the undead and save this mob childhood friend girl this mob is in love with, but I know nothing about because that's what a GAMER would do! Then I'm gonna save all his comrades in the militia and lead them to safety through an army of undead because I'm just that GAMER! Now I'm going to do a trial that materializes my deepest fears but it won't be a problem because I'm a GAM-" mob's swordmaster grandpa shows up and whoops his ass as he cowers "...oh no...I'm not in control, am I?" It's kinda like how distributed the human consciousness is. If a procedure or injury separates the right and left brain, the left brain (controlling vocalization) will tie itself in knots trying to come up with explanations for the right brains behavior to maintain the illusion of being a singular consciousness. He narrated and believed so much that he was in charge when the mob was deciding WHAT they did and WHY. He was just a knowledge vessel for the HOW.

it's not to that degree but it's always interesting when you could see that the original character's memories or consciousness drive motivation like that.

I have several issues with this story and will continue reading it to pass the time; however, I must address the two problems I have with this chapter:

1. MC: Oh, I have x, y, and z from my past life. That's why I've changed. Father: I am an irrelevant character, and I'm fine with that.

2. Why don't the lunatics of today understand that a 7-year-old in a fantasy world corresponds to a 15-year-old in our world before marriage age limit became a societal norm? A 7-year-old could have the intelligence, manners, and skills of a 15-year-old in our world, or even someone older. Before the schooling system, children used to talk to and befriend adults, work, and endure hardships. This made them age quickly and understand life, while the schooling system has robbed today's children of their rapid growth, limiting their interactions to their peers (people with no experience) and confining their lives to silly rules at home and school, much like prisoners.

Of course we had to have the painfully cringy scene where MC feels pressured to tell the truth, how he has memories of his previous life. (As if coming up any lie wouldn't have worked in this situation, smh)
The only way to top this cringefest was if MC was to actually apologize for keeping his secret and not revealing it anytime sooner to everyone around him, and actually feeling guilty about it, like a proper brainless japanese drone protagonist would think to do. (Because having any personal secrets about reincarnation or regression are such a ridiculous thought.)

The tone of the words compared to the visual represntation is somewhat funny.
For example in the last page of the chapter the 6 year old tone-checked the loyal butler AFTER the man just backed him up. ("We will support you, rest assured." and the response was both "You made a mistake in the way you are addressing your future higher up" and "I know you will support me") which is entertaining in it's own right but was that the intended message?

Why do they keep on like a Marquess is a low ranking noble? AFAIK it's just below Duke, which is just below King (oversimplified, I know). It's above Earl, Count, Baron etc., so he's a couple of ranks higher than Count Bumblefuck from a few chapter ago.

You're in for a real treat then. Don't want to spoil too much but...

MC takes what his father says here VERY seriously and for the rest of the story remains devoted only to Fara. More than once he has to publicly declare that there will only ever be Fara in his heart. Even as other families clamor to hook him up with their daughters, he turns all of them down. Quite a few members of the cast are ardent fans of how pure their love for each other is.
