It doesn't seem like the mana deficiency syndrome was important in the game if the game didn't require healing someone afflicted by it. Quite strange writing that it was in the game, but it served no particular role in the plot. In fact if the MC can figure out a cure by reading books in the mansion library, why wouldn't his father have already fixed the issue? It would make much more sense if he knew the healing process from the game. Though perhaps he will find the information but it requires some item/ingredient that can only be located with his game knowledge. That would still explain it, barely.
I was pretty shocked that they didn't, I thought that they were setting that up and the conflict would be collecting the macguffins needed for the spell/cure or something.
How many times will the same premise be put forward?
When will young male protagonists stop being forced to wear shorts?
1. As many times as they can before it stops making a reliable return, so probably never.
2. Not until every japan man is gone, also the populations of a few other Asian countries.

It can't be helped. MC is GAY after all.
No straight man can love playing otome games where he has to woo MEN.
I'm not surprised he is wearing those shorts... if he was gay.

Seriously... they need to stop with the Otome game premise. The Otome game from that other mob series was FORCED to play by his sister... makes sense... but this MC enjoyed and loved that game that was Recommended to him.

I mean, three things:
1. Usually not every second of these games are romance. Enjoying one while not being romantically attracted to the romance targets oneself is totally possible. Furthermore, enjoyment of a well-written romanceβ€”or humorous enjoyment of a poorly written oneβ€”without self-inserting into the protagonist (as dating games are often principally designed to do, but nothing can require players to do) and just enjoying it as a story is totally possible.
2. A lot of people are bi. Furthermore, a lot of people are only a little bit bi and can enjoy a romance game or story targeting fictional characters of a gender that they normally wouldn't enjoy dating at all IRL. Like we tend to make it weird and laugh it off when discussing it but it kind of is that simple.
3. But it seems more like the reason is actually pretty meta: The current otome-game reincarnation literary genre (as opposed to the games themselves) seems to be fairly popular among men to read for reasons, so of course there's fiction by-and-for men riffing off it, and so of course there needs to be an excuse that a guy who played one isekai'd into one for the plot setup to work. Thus the omnipresent lazy "sister made me play it" trope.

4. (bonus) Shorts do not make you gay.

I mean its a pretty large library, it could make sense that nobody saw the book.
Though this implies that the father doesn't really like the mother that much since he didn't look through every book in the library.
It's okay. Even without reading ahead and spoiling anything I can already feel that he visit to the library has probably been merely a plot device to meet the imouto and to reconcile with her, but the cure for their mother might eventually have a different source.

Ok, if these writers want to transmigrate an adult into a story with a child character, they should at least make him act like a freaking adult. What the heck is this?!! He is totally acting and thinking like a 7-year-old.

Depends on the Otome game really. At least the ones I played never had the girl actively wooing men. It was just a multi route story with a cute female protagonist who had her own personality and voiced name. Like Nanami in Norn9 or Ichika in Collar x Malice, they were so cute I wanted to see them in all sorts of situations.

That said I'm not a fan of bodysnatacher isekai where the guy's family clearly loves him then some mindflayer takes over his body and pretends to be him while no one notices. They don't even pretend it was some fusion or regaining past life memories. Dude just flat out talks about him as though hes someone else.

"Keep your friends close and your enemies (or just those that could get you killed) even closer."
Not in that scenario, where he has yet to even meet them and has nothing to do with them, they're not even aware of his existence probably, that's basically actively seeking the trouble himself

I'm guessing he gets roped into their schemes whether he likes it or not. After all, he knows how the events of that world unfold, so he wants to take the initiative.
