Okay... But they need them, not the other way around. The dark elves have yet to even make a proposal that makes the alliance worth it.
While it's true they don't need the alliance now, they're securing that in the future if the political situation were to change and the alliance broke down it's unlikely they're going to attack the territory where the princess is going to be living in, at least while this elf king is still the king, I wouldn't trust the elf prince too much.

Keep in mind he skipped most of the game story in favor of the territory management and character growing gameplay. He doesn't remember much of the first half of the story and doesn't know anything about the second half because of how much he skipped.
That's probably a good method for most of these series as it lets mc be in the dark about a lot of critical things and still be surprised by characters and events

That being said, I also enjoy series like, the villager wants to save the villainess where mc knows everything and actually puts it to good use, crafting a pretty well-detailed plan on how to survive

There is only one total QT in this family - and she's going to be his waifu. Ridd is totally winning here (and I'm not just talking about beating some sense into those who get in his way).

I agree with the people who say that this dragging on. Sure is there a spy who is trying to break the elves alliance? Yes, but the MC has to beg the elves who are in need of support of the Empire to accept it. Which is getting absurd.

But hey only time would tell if this going to pay off.
