Yasei no Last Boss ga Arawareta!

Maaannnn is this story and lore good. Only gripe is that some of the 12 heavenly stars come off as extremely 1-dimensional. The better written characters are Aries and Libra. I wish the other characters had more of a backstory to them, to explain their extreme loyalty to Lufasu. If the backstories of the allies were done in a sort of "Nanatsu no Taizai" way, I think the story would've turned out much better, plot-wise and character-wise; while also making the story longer(great!). Some of the reunions just feel fake and unsettling, as if thee is more to it. (which there might be who knows); although that can be attributed to the loyalty of the stars idk.
The plot twists were interesting and the story/world building was great tho. No clue what to expect for the "end-game" of the manga with the Goddess and all that; hopefully it wont get the axe treatment. Definitely one of the better isekais out there.

Does the writing ever improve? I managed to get through about 20 chapters before giving up. I assume this was adapted from a now, since every page just seems to be a wall of text without a hint of wit or cleverness. "blah, blah, blah 12 whatevers, 7 evil whatevers, 5 dragon whatevers. This move is blah, blah, blah." The premise is kind of interesting but that seems to be all there is, all the characters are shallow and one note.

This is flashy but not a whole lot is actually happening each chapter so it's easy to forget what was going on unless you've binged it recently.

Genuinely excited for the anime of this one, not a fan of the overlord style 'a isekai'd player in the role of the boss' but Lufasu is infinitely more interesting as a character (especially when we get a glimpse at the original 'her') than ainz ever has been. The bit with the two fairies really drives it home that she is a whole different brand of wicked apart from the system and makes the demon lord look like a child's toy in a game of good vs evil.

I guess I now know why the genderswap thing never really gets brought up. How that part got treated felt kinda weird tbh.

Anyway I just caught up with the manga and now have to wait for the next chapter like a filthy plebeian. rip
A bit surprised it's been 5 months since the last update.
No I'm not reading any novels.

Anyhow...

Overpowered isekai mc stories have been done to death but this has actually been a fun read. I do agree with a post from many pages ago tho. The author is writing this from a sort of zoomed out perspective which is great for world building and all that, but you do kinda fly from one scene to another and never really get the chance to sink your teeth into anything, and never quite get to connect with any of the characters because before you know it they're on their way to the next scene.
That's not to say I don't like the characters, I do, just saying things could have been done better on the micro level for the most part.
I do like Lufas (seems to be the official translation of Ruphas, not Lufasu(?)) tho, she's pretty cool. And her overprotective nature towards Virgo is kinda cute.

Looking forward to the anime.
