I've been in a Korean middle school, and I'm pretty sure it's not like it's a strict rule, but I haven't seen anyone do it because no one really cares-- so everyone sticks to their gendered uniforms. But, since it's not a strict rule, if a girl was super tall or way too large for a girls uniform, they could wear a boys uniform for practicality. Then again, no one really is interested in it.
They are events where girls and boys gender switch (at festivals and such) but not much otherwise.
