I agree up to the point where you recommend the skip; because the build up feels pretty necessary so imo readers should power through the pain of the first 159ch’s since it’ll give them the context needed behind each characters and will make the romance between the two leads very rewarding.

Also the build up helps the story feel more distinct from similar manhua’s since if you where to skip to 159 it’ll just start to blend in with the rest of the rom-coms.

I'm at 118 and it's getting really hard following the story of the MC since he's an endless spiral of self-loathing and uselesness.

Yup the MC is near rockbottom in terms of mental health but that makes every step forward something to look forward to!

This reminds me of MMORPG players saying "it starts out bad, but gets really good after 200 hours".
