I'm no expert in magic with it not being real but I assume in this manga it's like exercising. Let's use running as a example. Everyone can run and different speeds and how much pressure your muscles use. You can make running easier due to practice and form and I assume that's where this is going. I hope at least.

Honestly, I hope this manga is just skipping through the boring initiation BS and plopping us into a main training arc.
The story is going fast, but at the same time, I don't mind it since it's the same song and dance I've seen a million times.

I rather have it skipped and go to the part where he meets everyone

I also feel like I have sludge inside my stomach sometimes and have to take medicine for it otherwise I end up throwing up (my doctor call it reflux). It'd be so much nicer if I could use magic instead.
If the vice capitain's test was intentional to also see if the boy would follow his instructions FROM THE GET GO, then he really is a mastermind. Otherwise, I've got no respect for him. And why does it seem like he's accepting a proposal from the kid with the flower in his hands in the end?
Also, can't stress this enough, this manga won me through the art, so the plot would have to dive really low for me to abandon it now. The story is not bad, but it could use more pages per chapter so that the author could show us more of what he intended, but I belive it's something that is out of his hands.

Is it just me or is everything in this manga so incredibly, dreadfully convenient? Like the author is just trying to rush through a checklist of plot points for the most boring and generic story for it's genre.

Shame, as the art style is really pleasant.
it could just be that they're rushing to get through character intros so they can actually have them interact. Granted, that's not an excuse for the up-till-this-point pretty generic pacing, I do think the art carries enough for me to be interested in at least maybe another couple chapters if they come out. The characters at least all seem to WANT to have character traits, too, which in comparison to its many peers that have a similar set up of "child gets raised by uberpowerful group" isn't exactly a bad thing.

Could just be me giving it the benefit of the doubt, though.

This manga has the right funding, and then the formulated squeeze plot too. It might be an Ai generated manga.
