Seeing how the guild receptionist acted earlier, won't be surprised if he acts as a 'mediator' and bans magic during the duel. Or voids MC's win because of said magic while ignoring the other party blatantly cheating. Still holding out the tiniest hope that they maintain the 'strength is law' and MC wipes the floor with them.

@Lectonal first and foremost, thx for the chapter.
Secondly, you ask why the author is fixated on showing how badly MC is treated? Because, sadly (at least for me and some other that commented before me) it's another story where that's the concept of the MC....someone who won't stand his ground because, probably, "how cool it would be WHEN MC shows his true worth".
Imo, it's simple bad, lazy and overused writing...but writing is subjective (so one can't say "it IS bad writing) and in the end he's the author and he makes the choices.
