I won't be surprised if later we find out the priests were planning to use Yon-hi's family to overthrow the king and to take control of the kingdom.

The TL putting their hate-on for Su-Won in the chapters itself is pretty irritating. Why not use the comments section instead of ruining the flow of the chapter?

I don't understand why Yon-hi didn't confront her husband about what he did to the priests. He clearly had gone too far, why bury her own head in the sand? This fact does not speak well of their relationship I'm afraid.

@ArpanaR But how would Yu-hon killing Kashi be revenge ?

If anything Kashi would be the one to have a reason to taken revenge on Yu-hon, Yu-hon is the reason why she has that big burn on her face (and possibly other parts of her body), she was still a child when it happened. He tried burn children alive for the faults of adults, and as far as we know those "faults" are on the level of doing something that he doesn't like but not hurting anyone.

Jesus this backstory is scary: so much being uncovered...

Ignorance (to the truth) really is bliss... While yes, Yu Hon is one extreme of violence, the Emperor and Il were another extreme with how they bow down to the temple/priest.. this is all so disturbing and no healthy monarch should be one of either extreme...

I wonder how Yona will feel about everything after learning more about her family

So a summary of the chapter, and the flashback
King Il always was a happy go lucky guy who would not have cared for the throne if it wasnt for the big events we have seen now and told before
Yong Hi was a woman who was afraid of the world, and fell in love with an overbearing prince with a lovefor violence
Kashi was a simple servant of the temple that was protected by Il and later married him (we dont know her feelings)
AND wow for Yu Hon, it took his wife 5 minutes to find out that the priest were, although over the top, but just reverent and jovial about having proof of their dragon jesus alive and walking, he didnt even try to find out SHIT and just decided going all genicidal; no wonder the previous king decided he wasnt fit jack to be the king.
and So Won, if he knows half this story he doesnt deserve a redemption arc for not being able to understand how utterly stupid his father was

Oh my lord I think I’m really starting to form a hate for yu hon 😢 it’s one thing to give royals power but that was so violent idk if any of them were fit to be king. Like they’re both too extreme for their own good 😩

detective yona is on the case! Hopefully she does some magic

Thank you for this update!!
How Yonhi can still love or even live with Yuhon after learning what happened to the priests and to her mother I will never understand except the saying “love is blind.”
Poor Kashi and those priests!
Yuhon’s reaction to people learning about Yonhi’s secret is extreme. I wonder if this was the reason that King Junam named Il king.

im glad both il and yu-hon are dead tbh. they're both terrible kings... one is way too extreme with his violence/war-mongering and the other is way too obsessed with religion and allows it to dictate his entire life

The longer I read about these extremely warped brothers the more Su-won goes down my hate list and these two pee poo poos go up.

Kashi probably got game ended by Yu-hon once he finds out who she really is, and how Il probably groomed her with the secrets of the religion thinking it's her duty or something.

I do like this chapter on how it's gonna affect the present since it's Yona who's reading through it.

I will always be in awe of the author creating so many layers to this story and the amount of world building that went into the work. This arc is phenomenal in letting us form our own opinions phewwww. In love honestly.

Yeah because being religious is totally as bad as this dude murdering a bunch of people.

I still think that this whole story its just a cheap way to redeem soo-won, so the readers stop hating on him just because the author regrets making him the antagonist of this manga.
