When did he realize Vandalieu was the necromancer? Didn't he reincarnate believing Vandalieu was the protag-kun that got two people's worth of power and luck because they had almost the same name and looked alike?
Rodcorte told this fool what Van can do and more or less how powerful he is, The dude Just thought hey he's a kid and a fool i could just shoot him and be done with it.

I would've preferred if the spirits had actually tried to pass on but they weren't able to because they realized on their own they still had business, it feels like kind of a dick move for vandalieu to be like "whoa buddy! I can't have you peacefully passing on, I need you to be shackled to your hatred a bit more".
To be honest, I am not thrilled with either side. Her dumping the refugees on him was a bit too selfish, and yes him igniting her anger to prevent them from passing on isn't great either.

to be fair at this point none of his classmates are at Van's level soooo yeah.
I think they meant intelligence level. That guy iq is lower than those 2 idiots from dumb and dumber

No that is exactly the point. Van is so absorbed by his goals of revenge that he is willing to use anyone he can to get to it, and also is unwilling to let anyone else even imply that "just moving on" is an allowable choice.

They will be much happier and full of satisfaction if Van allows them to pass once their revenge has been claimed. Otherwise regret, even if now negligible, might have still grown in the backs of their mind like brain cancer.

Also, Van can probably just give all who are willing a second chance in life. Similar to the coachman and his flasher daughters. Settle some grudges and then revive as undead or even as living for a second life. This is his main goal for his mother, so why not extend it to some others, who would also be useful allies for the current undertaking.

I wonder how many spirits of the people he killed were talking to Vandalieu hidden from his sight (after all, he is the only one there, besides the Ghosts, who could talk to spirits).

Because OH GOD I can't believe there's not an entire gaggle of people trying to curse him for all the fucked up shit he has done, and I refuse to accept that as a possibility.

Everyone. Mostly. As you will see in the next chapter when it will be translated. along the way they already reveal all tricks about his Cheat Power.

It's not in theme of this novel and MC. Van is the eldritch monstrosity, walking ball of madness, inflicting insanity to all around him, this will be seen more apparent as a story progressing (especially when he infiltrate mental asylum). And forgiveness not in the dictionary of this world, for both sides of conflict. Its like for dwarfs from Warhammer, Grudges not only not forgotten but actively keeped tracked for a later due, with interest.

Well truth be told, since Vida is Goddess of Life and Love, her teaching prevent too excessive measures (like phrase "The son is not responsible for the father" is actually enforced there).

100%. Next time that idiot sends someone after mc, he should be REALLY clear about not killing anyone else on the way.

No but his abilities probably wouldve worked if he’d caught Van off guard
