@HiraOmnibus I think noble orcs are rank 6 monsters and they're rank 5 and 4, so there is a huge difference in terms of strength. One of the reasons they are able to win is because these orcs are lazy and they don't know many skills, contrary to them.

@Fran1212 That sounds about right, I believe they're mostly at rank 5 currently, except for the bone vulture and the normal ghouls (i.e. the ones without names and the other female ghouls besides Basida and her mother) which I think are all rank 4s still. I might be wrong but I think Van is technically ranked lower than his power would suggest, and he gets much stronger later (obviously, it's an isekai after all), but he's almost on par with most rank 6 monsters, it's just that he lacks a lot of magic spells and the ones he has are not powered up enough by his massive magic power to be able to kill rank 6s since most of them aren't technically combat spells. I'm basing some of this on what other people have said so I'm probably not completely correct but I should be roughly accurate in spots.

The description done by author for this battle, was executed really well and battle between that high noble orc and vandalieu was really amazing............ Well sad to see that in LN Basdia will already have a daughter with another ghoul. Van will be her second husband.

@Leo80221 yes if I remember correctly it becomes a battle of attrition, and yes while he has several non combative spells he also has some offensive ones.
Another interesting thing is that members of vida races are kinda of cheats because they have ranks as monsters so they evolve every time their ranks goes up😀, but they also can have jobs like the original members of that world.

because the demon king came from another universe with the evil gods and monsters who are his subordinates, then some major gods created the system to empower the habitants of the world, so they can have jobs and such, but the demon king messed up with the system so the monster have ranks and can have abilities, but they don't have jobs. And vida on the fear of a second coming of another demon king and such mated with different gods, monsters and races to create her own superior children, because a member of vida race is more powerful if it is trained correctly
